Today (29 Nov 2010) the Dev Team released a new version of ultrasn0w 2.1 which unlocks the iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and now 06.15.00. The basebands 05.14 or 05.15 are still unlockable (and will never be unlocked). If your phone is running either baseband, then your only current option is to upgrade to baseband 06.15.00 which is unlockable by the newly released ultrasn0w 2.1. 06.15.00 is IPad's first baseband but it can run on IPhone 3G/3GS. Steps to Unlock your 3Gs IPhoneStep 1: Download iOS 4.2.1. Step 2: Update/Restore to iOS 4.2.1 firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.1. Step 3: Download then start Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 and point it to iOS 4.2.1 firmware to proceed with the jailbreak Step 4: Select “Install Cydia” and "Install IPad baseband" click “Next”. Step 5: redsn0w will do all the rest for you. Once done, your iPhone or iPod touch will restart automatically and you will find it jailbroken on the latest iOS 4.2.1 firmware. For iPhone 4, 3GS (New Bootrom), iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G, iPad ONLY: Step 8: Launch "Cydia," then click on Manage, click on Sources, click on Add, enter repo666.ultrasn0w.com, then click Install. Tips: If you are on windows 7, or vista, then there is no need to try on an XP machine. Just right clicke on the program and go to properties, in compatibility set it to "windows XP service pack 3" and it will work |
